Dominica Viral: Pesheng Weng Weng

Membert “Zinthos” Gizzle, the genius behind the Pesheng Weng Weng phenomenon.

We’ve been through a novel virus, lockdown and a US election so far, who knows what else 2020 has up its sleeve? Through it all, we’ve had memes. We have Jamaica to thank for this one, a song by new Dancehall artist Membert Gizzle, who goes by stage name Zinthos, which hasn’t even been released yet before spreading like wildfire. He explained that the catchy but nonsensical chorus mimics the sound of gunshots in cowboy days. He’s now ready to take the Dancehall scene by storm. “Father God make some things happen sometime innu weh show yuh certain medz because a mi sing the song weh name Welcome Dancehall and say mi wah tun dancehall upside dung and just look wah gwaan now. Is like mi issa prophet,” he told Jamaica’s WEEKEND STAR.

The original clip that started it all.

One of my personal favourite memes.
