It’s that time of year again, where spirits (of all kinds) are high, and inhibitions are low. Yes, it’s Real Mas 2020. This year’s theme is Play de Riddim, Play Mas.
If you’re anything like us, you had been looking forward to this season since Ash Wednesday last year. This Carnival season runs from January 18th to February 26th, 2020. Don’t worry! There’s still time to plan, and to this fete be your best bacchanal yet.
Here at Bouyon Nation, we are your guide to all things Carnival 2020, from accommodation to fringe events to safety tips while reveling.
If you’re not rooming with family and looking for some privacy, or want to be close to the towns this Carnival, fear not. Apart from our vibrant culture, we boast serene and splendorous bungalows, bed and breakfasts, as well as several 3, 4, and 5-star hotels (Kempinski Dominica, Fort Young, Sunset Bay Club, Pagua Bay House, Jungle Bay, Secret Bay, Hotel the Champs).
More and more villages are organizing their parades. Still, the most anticipated event has to be the Carnival Monday and Tuesday on the streets of Roseau. If you live far away but don’t want to miss the festivities, there are multiple taxi and minibus services. Also, there are car rentals available for your convenience at reasonable prices (Less Go Taxi Services, Island Gemz Taxi).
And if you’re wondering what to do in between the already-packed calendar of events, there are a hundred and one things to do in the Nature Isle (links to Indian River Tours, Sheppy Tours).
Look out for Part 2 of our Carnival Guide for 2020!
